MLP OC: Astrantia Frost

Race: Earth Pony (Crystal)

Special Somepony: Silverwing

Talent: Helping ponies express their inner beauty.

Job: Astra is a beautician, and has her own salon called Charisma. It’s fairly popular, and whenever some newspaper praises it, usually some snobbish elite come and try to claim it as “THE salon to go to!” Astra hates that, and all it takes is “accidentally” dying an elite’s hair green to get it back to the way she likes it; meaning a home-based salon where anypony can come to feel pretty.

Personality: Astra is a very happy-go-lucky sort of pony. Whatever life hits her with, she never let’s it get her down! She has a sort of child-like wonder about anything in the modern world (Having spent 1000 years not existing) She’s kind, and willing to help a pony in need. However, she tends to be extremely blunt. She says things that could be hurtful, but she never intends them that way, she just doesn't have a filter. She doesn’t see the point of keeping secrets of any kind. She talks about whatever is on her mind, even if it’s things no one wants to hear about. She’s also not very mature.

Her story: Astrantia was 17 when King Sombra made The Crystal Empire, her home, vanish from existence. When it came back over a thousand years later, she hadn’t realized any time had past. When she realized that it had, she was elated. She felt like she had just time travelled, and wanted to see the world that had changed so much!

After plenty of sad goodbyes from her family, she left The Crystal Empire. Her first stop was Canterlot. Go big or go home, right? She soon discovered that the posh city life wasn’t for her, so she backtracked a bit and headed to Caneighda and the Neighagra Falls. There, she met Silverwing, and Silverwing offered to show her around. Astra loved Caneighda, and decided to buy a small house there after only two days. Three weeks later, Silverwing confessed that she was in love with Astra. Astra had never been in a relationship before, but she new that she felt closer to Silverwing than any other friend that she’s ever had, so she agreed to go on a date. The date went very well. They are currently in a happy relationship.

Likes: Travelling, nature hikes, outdoor naps (She considers herself a nap location connoisseur), conspiracies (She finds them hilarious), cuddling, Silverwing.

Dislikes: Ponies who are too serious, ponies who “talk in code” (Basically ones who make you guess at the meaning behind words), insects, the Canterlot Elite

Fun facts:

• She considers herself a nap location connoisseur. If you see a comfy looking bush, or a nicely shaded patch of grass, chances are she’s slept in it at least once.

• She finds conspiracies hilarious. Whenever she talks about them in public, nopony can tell if she’s serious. “Have you heard? Prince Blueblood is actually the lead singer of The Rolling Pones! He’s been dying his coat and mane this whole time! No, I swear it’s true!” She’s never serious, but she doesn’t break character. Silverwing is usually right beside her trying not to burst out laughing.

Notes from the artist: This started out as a sketch in my sketchbook, but then I fell in love with her. She's Silverwing's marefriend now. Also, Silverwing will be getting a redesign very soon. I'll also have to draw a full-body of Astra.
